TGIF 4

It's been a busy week on Steinback Mountain. For the first few days of the week, the plumber would show up, drop things off, and then leave. Yesterday, he stayed most of the day and was quite productive. We now have the Toto in-wall toilet tank installed in the guest house. At the end of the day Thursday Mike came over and we made the final decisions on exactly where all the fixtures would be placed so today the plumber should be able to finish most of his installation.

Scott the electrician has also been very busy. Most of his work in the BBQ room and guest house is complete which means the tile guy will soon be able to install the grids for the under tile heating. We also figured out the framing detailing for the LED rope lighting that is going above the five windows in the BBQ room. On Wednesday Dave built a mock-up of the frame which we immediately approved and Thursday he knocked out the five frames. They're built out of the high density plywood the Tombleson crew last summer used to frame all of the new dual paned windows which is also the material John Laughton is using to frame all of the cabinetry. The frames will be covered on the bottom with a very 50s translucent thick plastic which will produce a nice, soft downlight. They will be open at the top to uplight as well.

Also this week, the crew removed the grape stakes on the fence that surrounds the vegetable garden below the deck. The wood for the railing and the new fence is supposed to arrive today and Dave says they'll start installing it as soon as it shows up. This evening we'll be pressure washing the deck so that we can seal it on Saturday. It's been unseasonably hot the last few days (mid 90s yesterday!) so we're hoping the deck will be dry by the end of the weekend….
